Have you tried him on white fish? Sometimes that is a good alternative where other foods like chicken, eggs and rice aren't working.

I often feed white fish and mashed potato if ever I have sickly dogs in

Well, the vet rang at 8.30am and said his electrolytes are unusual and they are pointing towards Addison's Disease :'(  She said it was unusual in such a young dog and we are going in for another test specifically for it at 10am.  TBH, as he's still shaking and not eating, I'd rather had a solid diagnosis so he can start his treatment (for life) which shouldn't reduce his life expectancy.  Will update you all if he does have it later as he has to stay at vets for a while :'(

Thank you again for your kind wishes and thoughts, they really help :-*

:bigarmhug: Lesley, hopefully at least you are a bit nearer knowing what is making him so unwell. Fingers crossed he will soon be on the appropriate treatment and feeling better again.  :-*. What is the vet planning next?

There is a specific test for Addisons which she'll carry out this morning.

Fingers crossed for today Lesley, whatever it is making him poorly, it is far better to know and like you say, get on and treat him.  :-*

Poor little Odie :( You must be really worried. I think the vet will be planning to do a low dose dexamethasone suppression test which is the next step in diagnosing Addisons (if I remember my endocrinology from last year properly:)) I hope they have a definitive diagnosis for you by the end of the day. Good luck and all paws, hooves and fingers crossed for you and your boy
