Deworming, defleaing and boosters confusion!?

Hi 
I'm new to being a dog owner, I'm picking up my 9 week cocker puppy on Wednesday and am trying to gather as much knowledge as I can before he arrives!
I've been trying to figure out the general rules / requirements for their health needs and have found quite a few conflicting opinions 

Would really appreciate if someone could let me know what you do annually to keep your dog in good health including vet visits, vaccinations, home applications (worms/fleas) etc. I wanna get it right for my puppy!

I personally have a health check every 6 months,  Eliminall Spot on (same as frontline but half the price) every other month, worm my puppy every month until 6 months then every 3 months like my older dog and my older dog get a full vaccine every 3 years and in between she has her dog flu injection as i call it canine para influenzavirus some do it different but this is what i have always done and it is just routine now
