Various depending on my dogs...  :005:

For all ages:
Salmon oil for all of them (provided they are not allergic)
Coconut oil for those allergic to salmon oil

From about 7 years old (or earlier if they had known joint problems or joint surgery):
Liquid Joint Care (Holland and Barratt) as a glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM supplement
Optiflex® Glucosamine HCl Liquid for my vegan dog

As and when needed (currently for my saluki with a damaged disc in his back):
Devil's Claw
Turmeric

Bioflow - Collar

Also successfully used in the past: CSJ Get Over! herbs

I don't use anything special for joints although they are on a raw diet and get extras added as part of their normal diet. Penny is now 10 and although she's always been more of a plodded she can sprint around with the best of them if she's feeling in the mood. No joint issues noted as yet and she's still up for 3-5 mile walks daily.

Yumove for all of mine.  Even though they are still young dogs they are very active with 3 regularly training and competing at flyball. Yumove isn't just for older  dogs but also for working dogs.  Misha is the eldest and is coming up to 5 years old, and over the summer can quite often be at flyball competitions for 6-7 weeks consecutively along with an evenings flyball training each week, as well up to 2hrs walking each day.  I'm glad to say that she has never shown any signs of stiffness after competitions, even when she has raced a couple of days in a row.  The same can be said for the others.  They also have Fish4Dogs salmon oil too.

I also think that making sure your dog doesn't become overweight is half the battle as the extra weight does put strain onto joints.

Harry (who has hip dysplasia) has Gylcoflex III, Cetyl-m, turmeric, ester-C & salmon oil (no wonder my OH never knows which pills to give at meal times  :005:)

Max is 7 & does agility so I have just started giving him Glycoflex too, he too has salmon oil

All the dogs get salmon oil daily.  The girls who are 8 get Mobile Bones which is a powder added to their food.  We felt like they didn't recover from flyball as well last year and also seemed to struggle the next day after a long walk, so started them on this around March (we got a deal at Crufts!) and this year has been much better.  Being Spaniels they run for the whole of the walk regardless of how long it is!  We also run them over the little jumps at flyball and they often share a space in the team now  ;)

Tango is coming up 5 and he gets Glycoflex I as he does flyball and agility.  He had a bit of lameness around May and the vet panicked me by mentioning arthritis.  So I started the Glycoflex, but it cleared up anyway and I had him checked by a physio last month and no lasting issues so I think it was muscular  :D

The reason I went for the Glycoflex with him was I liked the fact it came in 3 levels, so I can increase the strength if and when he needs it.  He currently has one every other day.

Do people still give the supplements even if it's included in the food (Henry is on Barking Heads, which has a few vitamins and minerals (including salmon oil) added? I don't want to over-do it.
