Smudge needs healing thoughts please
« on: August 01, 2013, 08:38:28 AM »
No.1 mudmagnet is not at all well. Started on Monday when he did not want his food or a walk - sat down and would not move till I turned to take him home. Must admit I thought it was the weather as he had been leaving his breakfast when really hot. Monday night he wetted my bed going thro top cover, duvet etc., so I phoned vet tuesday evening - I know, but I thought it was probably a bug of some sort that a day would sort -  and the earliest they could see him was yesterday.

Took him in by taxi cos he could not go on the bus and he has high temp., and very listless. Vet said to have bloodtests which came back very anaemic, so more bloods required and I am now waiting for those results. They are looking at white/red cells and whether/ why they are not producing as they should.

He is not eating - tried all the usuals!! fish/rice, chicken/rice and combinations of kibble/fish etc. Vet said try anything, even treats if necessary.

I asked the vet - as I could not understand the speed at which this is happening, only a couple of weeks ago I took him to agility -(not in the very hot weather)  more for socialising than anything, and he thought it had been coming on for a while until his body/system just could not cope.  :'(

I still have him at home, hoping that all the advances in doggy medicine will pull him thro.

Sorry to hear about Smudge, gentle squishes. Maybe some ham, cheese or peanut butter?

Sending lots of positive thoughts for you and Smudge :luv: and hoping that your vet can find the cause very soon so that treatment can start  :bigarmhug:

Is he still drinking? You don't want him to become dehydrated on top of everything else.

Oh no!  So sorry to hear this.

I really hope that they can get things sorted soon for Smudge.  It is a great worry when our dogs are unwell and we don't know the cause.

Sending healing, positive thoughts your way, and really hoping for good news soon. Xxx

Hi folks, thanks for replies, and good wishes.

Yes Elaine He is still drinking water, thank goodness & he is weeing but not pooping (nothing in him to make him go I guess)

He did bring up some yellow bile last night and was panting rather a lot, will mention this when vet rings ( I am keeping a diary as I think otherwise you (I) tend to forget the stuff that's gone on.

I just hope they get the results back and can start treatment...very soon!!

Thanks folks for the good wishes.

Poor little fella doesn't know what's hit him  :-\

I know quite a few of us have had cocker worries and that I don't always respond to posts so am doubly appreciative of your kind replies and thoughts.  :embarassed:

Poor Smudge, really hope that whatever is wrong is something that is easily sorted and he soon feels a lot better.

Please give him a gentle hug from me and Ellie.
