This is all of ours worst nightmare, our dog not well and not knowing what it is  :'( I hope the vets find the cause and start treatment as soon as possible and then you will also know what to do to help Smudge. Lots of cyber hugs and positive vibes being sent to both of you xxxx

Hope Smudge is feeling better really soon and that the vet comes back to you with an answer quickly. It is a helpless feeling to not know what is wrong with our furry babies. Hugs to the both of you.

What a worry for you - as Coopersmum has said, its a helpless feeling not knowing what is wrong and how to make him feel better. Hope the peanut butter does the trick and whatever the cause it is easily remedied x

If he has a temperature and is panting would a cooling mat or cooling coat help?

You can get cooling mats from Argos, so you could get one quite quickly. It might just help with some of the discomfort?

I'm keeping my pinkies crossed that he's ok and gets sorted soon.

That sounds a good idea, thanks - I can go and get one of those tomorrow, waiting in for message from vet and keeping an eye on Smudge today. He has a cloth bathmat placed on the tiles in the hall by the open door at the moment...and hopefully that will help in the meanwhile.

Unfortunately Smudge did not win his battle, the anemia was particularly aggressive - I took him to vets  yesterday to start treatment from results of blood tests but he was so weak, they kept him in and put him on a drip, But with the anemia and jaundice  his body could not cope.

I shall miss my little magnet, bless him.
