Good News for my Woofalump
« on: December 09, 2008, 06:42:16 PM »
We have had the test results back from Woofies 5 lumps that were sent away after his surgery last Thursday.

They confirmed that two were just lypomas (fatty tissue), two were blood clots but nothing to worry about (still don't understand what these are).

The one that they were concerned about by his eye they think is a melanocytoma. They can't confirm that they have got it all out as the margins round the eye were so narrow.  But the vet didn't seem worried and said that we should just keep watch on it to see if it regrows.

Woofie is absolutely fine in himself, a little itchy but the coat that Lyn (Mollycuddles) made him has stopped him at getting at 4 out of the 5 sites.  He is also counting the days till the weekend when he can go for a proper walk.

If anyone has any information on melanocytoma's I would be really grateful to hear it.

Thanks, Lisa x

It's an awful worry when they have lumps and bumps, and I'm really pleased Woofie is on the mend.

That does sound like good news (mainly).

And even with the one by his eye, at least you (you and the vet) now know what you are dealing with and know to keep watching it.

Hope he enjoys his walks when he can get out there. In the meantime, enjoy the warmth inside!
