Lump on Bum! - Update biopsy taken
« on: August 01, 2011, 05:16:01 PM »
My lumpy bumpy Woofalump has had another lump appear as if by magic!

This one is the size of a grape and is just above his anus under the base of his tail.

It feels fluid filled and is skin coloured.  He has no other symptoms and isn't bothering him at all and doesn't hurt him when we look at it.

Has anyone any ideas what it could be? (We are booked in at the V.E.T.s tomorrow afternoon)

Thanks x

I think it is quite a bit bigger than what a wart would be.

And yes Jenny, I rue the day I nicknamed him Woofalump because he has certainly lived up to it!

Could it be an inflamed sebaceous gland/cyst?

Our first Cocker suffered from these when she was elderly  ;). I remember she had one on her back which erupted all by itself and then disappeared.

I was hoping to find it was just a fluid filled cyst or something but it is quite hard, perhaps a haematoma.  It will definitely need removing but VET is waiting till he gets results back from biopsy to see how much margin he needs when he takes it out in case it is something more nasty  :embarassed:

Fingers crossed we will know soon.

Bless him, Woofie was fantastic, hardly a murmur as the VET had two attempts to get a sample  :luv:

Cost £90 as well!
