Bailey is in pain ? updated Page 7
« on: November 02, 2012, 10:01:02 AM »
I think Bailey is in pain, he is so clingy and shaky. He yelped a bit when trying to get up on to couch last night. This morning OH said he walked him around the garden and he wouldnt leave his side at all. He has slept at the side of my bed on a pillow all night and that in its self is unheard of to be honest.
I have wrapped him up in a blanket and he is on the floor asleep still very very quiet and still shaky.
I have booked him in to vets at 3pm as that was only app they had >:D
He has ate his breakfast but not gone out to loo yet, again he normally eats then straight out to do his business.
I just don't know whats wrong for sure, he could have hurt himself slipping on wooden floor I don't know.
Just praying its nothing serious

Poor Bailey :'(

You're doing exactly the right thing in taking him to the vet, but it sounds like he's in quite a lot of pain so I think you should push for an earlier appointment. In the meantime, make sure he stays as still as possible, which it sounds like he's doing anyway. When you take him to the vet lift him in and out of the car, don't let him try jumping in or out.

Fingers crossed that it's something easily resolved with medication and rest :D

Bailey had a pain killer injection but vet couldnt find cause of pain. She said to bring him back tomorrow if he isnt any better.
Complete rest, no jumping up and TLC.
She said it could be a slipped disc as cockers were prone to that (?)
Fingers crossed my boy is better tomorrow.
Thanks for all the advice

Sounds like how Annie was a few weeks ago - we were so worried but after painkiller injection and 48 hours rest she was right as rain. Hope Bailey is too  :bigarmhug:

Thanks guys.
Bailey has been in his bed since 5.30 last night. Hasnt been to loo yet either.
We have not to give him breakfast in case they want to sedate him at vets for x-rays.
He is so down looking but wags his tail when petted and looks right in to my eyes, can't help but feel he's trying to tell me something :'(
We are back to vets at 12.10. please keep your fingers crossed for my boy x

So sorry to hear this. I've just gone through this myself with Brodie, she is recovering from pancreatitis (not helped by her eating a lollypop stick). Hope the vet can get to the bottom of it, really not nice (dreadful, actually) seeing them in pain and not knowing what is wrong :bigarmhug:
