Thanks guys.
Bailey has been in his bed since 5.30 last night. Hasnt been to loo yet either.
We have not to give him breakfast in case they want to sedate him at vets for x-rays.
He is so down looking but wags his tail when petted and looks right in to my eyes, can't help but feel he's trying to tell me something :'(
We are back to vets at 12.10. please keep your fingers crossed for my boy x

i think hes probably trying to tell you something too, you are doing the right thing by heading back to the vets today, i hope they manage to find out whats wrong with your poor boy.

I always know when my girls are trying to tell me something..... :luv:

Bailey has had x rays done and they can't find anything conclusive wrong. He is booked in for MRI on Monday with a specialist. Vet thinks it's spinal problem.
He is on stronger pain meds now over the weekend.
Just wish I knew what was wrong.

What a worry. Sending you some hugs  :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug: and a gentle squish for Bailey. MRI scans can show up things that x-rays don't, so you should get a diagnosis on Monday. I'll be thinking of you all and hoping for good news :luv:

He has to go to somewhere in Liverpool, never been before so don't know where it is and don't know the cost of MRI either.
He is insured so money wise everything is ok.
Just hate seeing him all groggy and the thought of him in pan breaks my heart.

MRIs are usually quite expensive, so, when you go, take your insurance details and a claim form with you.  Some places will make a direct claim (depending on who Bailey is insured with, and probably charge you an admin fee) which means you won't have to pay up front.  Others will want you to pay up front and then put the claim form in and you'll get the money paid back directly to you.  Good luck on Monday, will be thinking about you and Bailey.   :bigarmhug:

Poor Bailey and poor you too :'(

I think all you can do at the moment is keep Bailey as comfortable as possible until he has his scan tomorrow, and look after yourself as well :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug:

Bailey has had breakfast and water, been outside done his business too :D
Wanted to play with his ball ph34r
He's chirpier and Im happier.
Going to ring vets for advice again this aft wondering if its worth putting him through MRI and sedation or whether to leave it for now and carry on with meds
Not very knowledgable about MRI and what it entails, wondering whether its worth having it done or not.
He is fully insured so money isn't the issue, its putting him through the stress of it all that concerns me. These meds seem to be helping now. We think its his leg/hip not his back, but we aren't vets.

Confused a bit now and dont know what to do for the best.

Fantastic news that he seems brighter. I'm an MRI radiographer so hopefully I can help a bit. MRI shows soft tissues well. I think the main thing they'd be looking for would be a slipped disc. There aren't really any risks from MRI, except from the sedation I suppose. I hope that helps. If he was mine, I think I'd be in 2 minds about having the scan now but I suppose you'd be best to talk to your vet.

Can understand your confusion... if Bailey was mine and the insurance wasn't a problem I'd have the scan to check his back to discount a disc problem which his pain, lack of movement and incontinence might indicate. It might well be if it is a problem, they just put him on complete rest to let the disc settle down again but at least then you would know and be able to manage it in the future.
Really pleased he's feeling a bit brighter in himself tho, whatever you decide I'd suggest keeping him completely quiet again today so whatever it is tha'ts causing a problem has more time to calm down.
