He Has Eaten The Bottom Stair Carpet!
« on: May 10, 2005, 08:27:41 AM »
Barley is obsessed with me!.
He eats my shoes but never touches anyone elses.
He has now started to chew the carpet on our bottom stair if i am upstairs!.
he knows he isn't allowed upstairs (although when DH is at work it doesn't bother me) but he abides by our rules and waits at the bottom!.
In desperation i have squirted lemon juice on the bit he loves to chew but what else can i do?????

You could try sprinkling a bit of pepper onto the carpet? Bella has started trying to unravel the only (expensive) rug that we have in the house and she can do a huge amount of damage in just 1 or 2 minutes. I've been putting pepper onto it and that does seem to keep her away (this is what I've always done to stop the cats scratching things they shouldnt' as well).

Hope you manage to save the stair carpet!
