Spayed and over sexed - embarrassing
« on: July 05, 2007, 03:47:47 PM »
Tia has a blanket that she likes to play pull with. Sometimes she gets over excited and starts to hump it like a dog. Very embarrising ph34r. But she's a bitch and been spayed so is this normal? I thought spayed bitches wouldn't have any interest in this sort of thing.

Well they are all different, and castrated males can still hump things, so why not the girls!

My Tia likes to try and hump our Newfoundlands ph34r :005:... She hasn't been spayed though!

Neutered dogs and bitches are just as likely to hump as entire dogs......it can be play, excitement or (when it's between two dogs/bitches) sometimes it is a display of dominance  ;) Molo used to hump his towel when I was drying him; he has stopped more recently, though  ;)

It is perfectly normal dog behaviour, and so should not be any more "embarrassing" than barking, or scratching ;) I am certain that Tia isn't at all embarrassed by it  :005:

Bracken (unspayed female) has been caught a couple of times trying to hump Jasmine, I put it down to a dominance thing.

Maybe she is showing the blanket who is boss?

Tia was spayed at a year old. She's now approaching 5 in September. I must admit during her first season before she got spayed she was very frisky if you know what I mean.  ;)

We've had bitches before one spayed and one not but none have been as sexual as Tia.

It is not just a sexual act though - it is part of a range of dog communication and behaviour  ;)

Thanks for the reassurance.

I was thinking of renaming her Jezabel but I think I'll just stick with Tia.

Poppy got an infection in her stitches after speying. It was caused by....ahum....friction burns  ph34r She'd been humping Bramble. It's been months since she's been speyed and she's still humping her on a daily basis. I think it's a dominance thing with Poppy. Bramble lets her think she's the boss.....but Brammie is the real boss and puts little Poppy pip-squeak in her place when she has to.  :005:

We too have a Tia that humps  :005:  :005:
She is  nearly 15 months old and was spayed in April. She started the humping during her first season and we thought being spayed would be the end of 'it'. No such luck  ::) She doesn't do it as much as before but she often finds her quilt 'attractive'  ;)
