Title: Symmetric Lupoid Onychodystrophy
Post by: pupdaddy on June 27, 2017, 05:14:00 PM
Poor Jarvis has been really grumpy for a few months and recently his nails have started falling off (so he's obviously in pain). Took him to the vet, who is enjoying the Range Rover we bought him due to a long term ear infection  >:(

He's now been diagnosed with SLO

He's running around wagging his tail as usual (the vet pulled off a couple of loose nails which were probably digging in) and will probably be treated for life now but at least it's not something even nastier. Funnily enough, the vet doesn't recommend normal dietary supplements but some expensive proprietary stuff which my wife has ordered...

sorry to hear this  :-\

What has the vet given him?  It's an auto immune disorder so I'm guessing he's on some form of steroid?

I think so. One of the dogs was sick yesterday but it might have been the other one who eat a lot of grass
