Just got back from seeing the emergency vet. Pippa has a splinter in her eye which the vet couldn't get out. We have eye drops to use tomorrow and the vet says it's possible it will work its own way out. If not, it's removal under sedation on Monday. Pippa is being amazing - really good at the vet's and she's not rubbing it at all. We wouldn't have known anything was there expect that her eye was slightly puffy. Positive thoughts to will the thing out before Monday would be very welcome.

Sending positive thoughts that it works its way out before monday. :bigarmhug: for you and Pippa.

Poor Pippa :luv:. Fingers crossed that the splinter works it's way out before Monday :bigarmhug:

eye problems always make me feel a little :020: so well done you & Pippa for being so good about her splinter ph34r
All paws crossed it works it's way out by Monday with no vet intervention needed & that her eye heels with no lasting problems

Thanks all. She is sleeping now. Hopefully, it is working it's way out as she snores.

Hi
Hope Pippa is ok, I'm sure Barney will look after her.
At least she is fast asleep, hopefully she will be fine by Monday.
Fingers and paws crossed for you.

Poor Pippa, hope that nasty splinter works its way out of her eye itself. She is being very good as it sounds as though it could be very painful & irritating to me.
-
Poor little soul :luv: That must be so irritating and sore. Do you think that silica would help? I've never used it but I know its been reccommended for grass seeds.
Hoping for positive outcome without surgery.

Paws crossed xxxx

Poor girl. :luv: Fingers and paws crossed here that the splinter works it's own way out and Pippa won't need any sedation.

All fingers and pawsies crossed here x

Big positive thoughts for your little one x
-
Well, thanks for the positive thoughts which have so far brought partial success. Most of the splinter has come out but a tiny bit has been left behind, less than a millimetre. Unfortunately, it seems to be irritating her more now though but she doesn't seem to be able to pinpoint the area that hurts and is just rubbing her whole self on the furniture. :-\

Poor Pippa, I hope that it will work it's way out before tomorrow, if not that the vet can remove the rest of it before it does any damage. :bigarmhug:
-
Aw poor little girl :luv: :luv: hope all goes well and she doesn't have to go through an op.

Good luck for tomorrow, sounds like she'll be having a similar op to Phoebe when she had a foreign body in her eye.

Thinking of Pippa, and you too. :luv: :luv:

Thanks, all. The little end bit is still in there so looks like we'll be calling the vet in the morning. The annoying thing is I think it probably broke when the vet was trying to pull it out yesterday, so now I'm thinking if we had left it alone, it may well all have been out by now. :-\ Maybe there will be movement overnight again. Hope so.
-
Finger, toes, paws and tails crossed that it comes out tonight x
-
How's Pippa doing this morning? Has the rest managed to work its way out overnight? Hope so.... :luv:

Pippa's home and absolutely fine except for being ravenous! :005:
We have had a gentle canal walk and a trip to our favourite dog friendly cafe- hot choc for us and roast lamb treats for the dogs. Took Barnes to the vet to collect her and they went crazy when they saw each other. She was definitely more pleased to see him than me. She's asleep now and the vet said we shouldn't have any problems. :D thanks for all you support and good wishes.

Ah....that's great news. No place like home hey? Bet Barnes missed her too. Xx
