Thank you everyone for your well wishes - it seems to be working. I’m told the vet is happy with progress overnight.  She now has tablet painkillers and AB drops until Friday and a further assessment then.

IPS - will send you a PM later when I get chance, you missed out on a good day though not may birds were shot!

Not sure if this is the effect of metacam, the fire or my boot!

:luv:  Aaaw bless her.  So relieved Coral is improving.  You must have been very worried.  Its amazing how resilient they are.  Some more cosy time by the fire prescribed I think.

Coral was back to the vets this morning for a check up.  The infection has cleared and the vet was able to see the retina for the first time.  He's really pleased with how well she's recovered but she has now formed an ulcer at the site of the injury so on painkillers/ABs and eye lubricant until next Wednesday which is the next checkup.

He did say that she was very lucky the eye wasn't shattered and it's looking good to make an almost complete recovery.  If I wasn't on call tonight I'd be having a large glass of something....it's been a very long week!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes
