Where's Winalot?
« on: April 10, 2008, 06:58:05 PM »
Hi everyone,

I just wondered if anyone else has noticed a distinct lack of Winalot Complete dry food on the supermarket shelves recently?

I feed one of my Cockers on Winalot Complete dry food and he loves it, so it is a shame I haven't been able to buy it lately.  I went to Pets at Home today to see if they stock it and it was nowhere to be found.  Perhaps Winalot food is being phased out?

Haven't noticed i'm afraid but there are plenty of good alternatives of you look at the feeding board, a lot of people on here find foods like Winalot contain a lot of additives etc that can make their dogs a bit hyper.

I've found this at work too (work in a vets). I order my pet food via our wholesalers and the majority of their winalot range seemed to be deleted, including the treats like rewards etc which I use for training. Annoyed wasn't the word! So not really sure whats going on.

On the website it still lists the dry stuff and it has Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's as stockists http://www.winalot-dog.co.uk/buyonline.aspx  It's made by Purina so you could try contacting them if you still want to get it.

Thanks Gill and Nicola,

I contacted Purina about it and their explanation was that my local supermarkets aren't placing orders for it - perhaps customer demand is too low for it?

They said they are still producing it and have no intention of phasing it out.

In response to the other replies, I haven't found Winalot to make my dogs hyperactive; they seem to love it and if they're happy, I'm happy!

I see that it also bears the Royal Crest, so if it's good enough for the Corgis it's good enough for me!

Thanks for all your replies,

Liz

Do you have a Jolleys near you? They sell it.

Hi Sabrino, Meg and Molly,

Unfortunately Worcester is dominated by the Tesco monopoly, none of whom stock Winalot Complete anymore.  I don't have a Jolleys either.  Not to worry, I will track some down somewhere!
