Well it was bound to happen sooner or later.... dog no.5
Me and OH have fallen completely in love with Lance (the black working cocker) and have decided that he has secured himself a permanent spot in the family. He's been with my parents as a foster but with us while they are on holiday. All of us are besotted with him as he is such a star with a wonderful character. He has come on so far in the 3 months since he was brought into SRS and is adapting really well to life indoors but learning new things every day. He adores being around other dogs and didn't bat an eyelid going to daycare for the first time. My dogs like him (normally they huff at new dogs) and he plays with mums Barney, Lyra and other dogs like a puppy! He is 7 going on 7 months! He doesnt like to be left alone which is why we can offer him just what he needs seeing as I'm around all day with numerous other dogs and lots of outdoor space. My parents really wanted to keep him too but realise he needs more exercise and company than they can give him. He isnt the quiet little cocker who just pottered about like when he was at Fiona's. He runs and runs and runs some more! I know she had a difficult time with him when he first arrived at hers in a neglected state but she gave him a brilliant new start and he is all the better for it.
I always said if I was to ever have a 5th it would need to be a really special dog for starters plus older, great with other dogs and with a lovely gentle nature. Lance ticks all the boxes and more. I know I still have 4 other young dogs who need more training but luckily I'm about to change the way I run my business so I have more time to devote to the dogs.
