Oh poor Charlie-Spud  :(

I hope his treatment regime results in him feeling more comfortable very soon; and that he stabilises well.

I hope that Frisbee is given a clean bill of health soon - what a shame that you have been unable to get the support you expected from the breeder; you really don't need that stress along with worrying about your boys

Yips and bounces from Molo  - he will be gentle with Charlie, promise!

So sorry to hear this news.  On the bright side, at least Charlie spud has loving owners who will make sure that he has the very best of care.  A lot of odgs aren't so lucky  :( .

Sending big hugs & healing thoughts to Charlie spud from me (& some more hugs for little Frisbee who I'm sure isn't so little any more  :D ) & lots of Cocker snogs from Bess & Dillon.

PS - which vets do you go to?  Is it Cockburns?

So sorry to hear about Charlie-Spud, Tina and Maggie - do keep us posted how he gets on. Remembering what he's like from when we met (and Jazz stole his tennis ball oops!), I'm sure he'll thoroughly enjoy the hydrotherapy sessions and like a true cocker, wont ever stop smiling  :)

Oh Tina and Maggie, I'm so sorry - my heart skipped a beat when I saw the title of your post :( .  Please give Charlie-Spud a huge hug from all the Dunton4 (and another one for Frisbee)  As others have said, sounds as though your vet is marvellous and your boys are so fortunate to have owners who love them and will do the best for them.  Everything is crossed here for Frisbee and we do hope that CS's treatment helps him and relieves his pain.  Poor lad  :( .

Sorry to hear about Charlie-Spud but it at least sounds like he is going to get the very best treatment possible from your excellent vets! Hope you get more support from your breeder - I think I remember you saying Charlie-Spud came from her first litter so maybe she does not know much about HD or it just never occurred to her that problems can arise when you breed puppies?

Good luck anyway :)

T and M

Big hugs from me and Barkley (for you both and Charlie-Spud), it's completely different reading posts like these when you have met the dog and the owners.

I am so glad you have managed to get to the bottom of Charlie-Spuds problems, sounds like you have excellent support from your consultant.

We know a choc labrador with a similar condition who has to go swimming and he loves it!!

Anyway, take care and keep us posted.

Gina and Barkley xx.

T

Just see this about CS - I didn't know you had problems with him. (Don't get as much time to catch up anymore). Sounds like the treatment is in place and that you're giving him lots of hugs :)

I only just spotted your post about the hip dysplasia. I was so sorry to hear your troubles.   :(

My Scully was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at the age of 15 months. She had a major operation on both hips at the age of 18 months and has been on Metacam ever since. She is now nearly 8 years old.

If you want to talk about this anytime then just PM me or email me at tobycat@cwgsy.net

Sending love and hugs to Charlie-Spud. Must be a really worrying time for you, and I really hope the treatment will help. I have heard of quite a few success stories from Hydrotherapy though - I believe it can make quite a noticable difference in cases of HD. Hugs to Frisbee too - hope the wee guy is unaffected.
