what type of trim should I ask for
« on: September 27, 2010, 04:37:08 PM »
my wee pup Jarvis is now 6 months and I am thinking to the time he needs a trim, whilst he has had his feet trimed the rest of him has remained untouched. Not sure what I should ask for, he is not a goingto shows just a pet but still want him to look his best. Any ideas

At Jarvis's age I would only expect them to be handstripping him... he'll still have his puppy coat and you don't want them taking scissors etc to that.

thank you, First cocker who has owned me so not sure have found a lovely place for his first time to. He will be neutered at about a year if not before if his madness does not subside lol am I right in thinking that once this happens he can't be stripped

Cocker coats do often change texture and volume after neutering, but my girl Emily, was spayed at 7 months and has never had to be clipped.  I still hand strip her (she's nearly 9).  Her coat is a bit softer/ fluffier than Ollie's (unneutered male), but still manageable.
