Choked up reading that, Lisa, it was such a shock to see your news on Facebook . I really am so sorry, it is the worst thing in the world losing them . He was a very special boy, and always looked so happy in his photos


The last two lines of one of my favourite poems (The Last Battle) are words that always stick in my mind:

So very sorry to hear about Woofie - it's always such a hard decision to make, especially coming out of the blue like this when you don't have time to prepare yourself for what's coming. Something similar happened to a lovely boy we bred last year - he was on holiday with his family and seemed to be as right as rain one day but became ill overnight and was taken to a vet the next day where multiple tumours were discovered and they then had the same decision to make as you. It hit them very hard too due to how quickly it all happened but they gave their boy a lovely life and did their very best for him at the end, just a you did Sleep tight Woofie xx

It's so sad to hear of your loss, and it's so sudden so you couldn't really prepare both physically or emotionally, however, at least he knew no suffering or pain and is now running free at the bridge after such a lovely great life you gave him

Lisa the tears are flowing here as I read your post , I (like many others on COL) had come to love and know woofie even though we only met in the cyber world. What has always been clear from all your posts is just how much he was loved and treasured, you gave him the best possible life and I hope that you get some peace from knowing that you did right by him until the very end.  to you and Paul and Maddie, I hope in time your memories of Woofie bring you comfort xxxx
