Harvey had his op today

hello

Thought i would update you on Harvey. well he had his operation on his back today. (A slipped disk that was trapping the nerve) All has gone well so far and he is resting.

The operation took 3 hours and was at the base of his back so in a very difficult positon, the disk was trapping the nerve worse than first thought but the vet has fixed it. the worst is yet to come when he comes home and he is on extreamly strict rest and telling him that he isnt better yet and has to be in his cage for the next 12 weeks is going to be hard (you know what these spaniels are like, they think they know best!!)

He isnt going to be home for a few days yet and i am missing him terribly but it was the right decision.

I would also like to thank everyone for their kind messages they sent to us on our last topic.

Glad to hear that Harvey's op went well and hope he makes a good recovery  :D

Don't envy you having to keep him quiet for 12 weeks though!  :o

12 weeks! Wow.

Still, I'm thrilled that the op has gone well. Hope he's back to his old self really soon.

You must be missing him so much, but he will be back at home very soon. Get well soon Harvey and be a good boy for your mum for the next 12 weeks  ;)

Glad to hear that his op went ok - Since Hurley's operation I've got to keep him on restricted exercise for 3 weeks and I totally understand how difficult it will be for you, COL'ers have been great at suggesting how to keep him otherwise occupied - I would suggest Kongs, Kongs, and more Kongs, Hurley is also on a BARF diet so I have been told to give him bones which will keep him busy and also tire him out!
