Hi everyone

I'm not sure that I should post this here really, so sorry mods, but I have just received some extremely good news via my vet from Texas regarding Harmy's pathology results and the subject of FN.

THE DNA BLOOD TEST TO IDENTIFY CARRIERS OF THE RECESSIVE FN GENE IS LITERALLY JUST WEEKS AWAY FROM BECOMING AVAILABLE!!!  :D

just wanted to share that with you all ;)

That's fantastic.

Think it deserves a whole new thread. Maybe now, maybe when it happens????

It is great news but they've been saying that for a while now ;) Australian breeders have been able to have the test done already but I don't think the samples are being processed yet - haven't heard any results anyway. When the test is finally available to UK breeders, there will be a thread started on the Breeding board so everyone knows who to contact etc

Just read your thread and don't know how I missed it.

My heart goes out to you for I too lost a beloved dog to Chronic renal failure and she too died in my arms. I have cried buckets reading this as it brought back all those memories and for me it was many years ago, but when you have an angel they are with you forever

Your pain will ease in time but the memories you cherish of him will stay forever.

Run free sweet Harmy.
