We have been at Butlins all week (had an excellent week BTW). We were just getting organised to come home and got a phone call from my brother to say Charlie was hit by a car last night
He had been left at my mum's as usual and he had not been left unattended all week cos as some of you may know he has a habit of escaping from there
Apparently somebody opened the front door late last night and he bolted
He would have only got as far as the front garden but somebody
had left the front gate open.
He ran straight in front of a car
He was rushed to the emergency vets and they say he has fractured his back right leg and his back left leg has been stripped and has tissue damage
He is now at our vets and we spoke to them first thing this morning and he was heading to surgery.
We have got home as soon as possible and are now waiting to ring the vets at 2pm. They said this morning he was bright and alert and should be ok but there is a possibility he may lose the right leg
Mum is understandably beside herself but I can't blame her. Charlie is so damn fast when he takes it into his head to go and he was only out the house 30 seconds before he was hit
I will keep you all updated on his progress but lots of good wishes would be appreciated
I just want to go and see him ............gonna be a long 45 mins
