Paisley is home. Updated page 5
« on: September 24, 2009, 06:01:35 PM »
Rang vets this morning to be told Paisley wasn't to well.  Wouldn't eat or drink and was losing his balance  :-\

They were waiting for the specialist to look at him.   Anyway to cut a long story short they said I could take him home late this afternoon.

He isn't great, his eyes flicker and he keeps doing the splits  :'( losing his balance. The specialist said he hopes this well get better in a couple of days. [so do I  :o]  He has loads of painkillers and Abs to take and I have to take him for a wound check to my vets on Tues.

We have made him a pen out of an old playpen, can't afford to let the other dogs knock him or be given a Monty special.
He has eaten his tea  :D and had a little sip of water. goes back to the specialist in 2 weeks for the stitches to be taken out.
Poor boy keeps crying  :'(

A few pics.  click to enlarge.

Awww Julie, the poor poor baby. :'(  At least he has got painkillers so that should help.  Maybe the flickering and splits is just because of where they have been messing with.  I hate it when they look so poorly, it makes you feel so helpless doesn't it?  Fingers crossed that he will start to pick up and put all these rotten ear problems behind him!!  Gentle wee hugs for Paisley from me xxxx :luv:

He is unsteady because, when they remove the Bulla, it is pretty close to his balance bit. [not very technical I know  :lol2:]
They have to really stretch this bit and it has damaged his balance mechanism. can't remember the exact terms they used.
Time will tell, Hopefully in a few days it will recover.

Oh Julie I am so pleased he is home.

I have been away for two days, and so have not been on line to check.  I did, however, think of him yesterday when he was having his surgery.

Don't worry about the imbalance at the moment.....Lily had all of that.  Not only has he had heavy anaesthesia.....but also lots of pain killing drugs too....so, he will be ok once these necessary help-lines decrease.

Everything crossed for a positive future.....pain-free.

Love from us all.  Maureen, Freya, Luis and Ollie.xxxxx

Poor little fella - he must wonder what is wrong with him   :'(

I am sure he will be much much better in a few days once the effects of the GA and the swelling has gone down a bit  :-\  It sounds like a pretty invasive op so it is not surprising he feels rough.

I bet he is getting lots of fuss - am sure he will be happy he is home with his 2 mums  :005:

Give him a gentle squidge from me and a sympathetic lick from Coco  :luv:
