Many thanks for all your positive thoughts. He's back and feeling sorry for himself—I walked into the surgery to bloodcurdling howling! We're really crossing fingers (vet practice included) for an infection that's easily dealt with. Went for a walk with Ruby and one of the vet nurses at lunchtime which helped.

:wub: Aww bless him Penny!  How long before you hear any news on the results?  I know its hard (easy for me to say) but try and not worry too much, it could be an infection that can be treated :)
