possible to prevent woolly coat?!
« on: November 19, 2011, 05:51:33 PM »
not sure where's the best place to put this....

pup is now 8 months old pretty soon, he was neutered around 2 months ago, the coat still lovely and silky...

heard many stories that the coat goes woolly..... :( but he's neutered already, no way back..

so any suggestion on any way to prevent his coats go woolly?

he's now on fish diet! hopefully will be better........

Sorry, the bad news is that it's genetics or something we can't control  :rain: You can try something like Yumega or evening primrose oil, but his coat will be what it will be

1) yumega
2) evening primrose oil
3) cod fish oil
4) salmon oil?

The basic difference is the amount of "good" antioxidant oils (Omega3 and Omega6) that are in them and how much vitamin E. I haven't used Yumega myself but I know a lot of COLers have their dogs on it with good results.

The only one I would eliminate from your list is cod fish oil, it is a heavier oil, has laxative properties and is a poor source of Omega oils
