Bit of COL magic please... Update pg 6
« on: July 03, 2012, 11:01:31 AM »
So a couple of weeks ago I noticed something odd about one of Maggie's eyes.  Looked to have a "light" spot where I wouldn't be expecting one... after a bit of dodging around I could see she had a grey/white spot on the front of her left eye.  She's had no injuries to her eyes or anything so I left it a couple of days to see if there was any change which there wasn't.  Took her off to the vets last week and he had a look. He has said its not on her lens so not a cataract - but looks like fatty deposits on the cornea, and that she actually had it on both eyes but a lot fainter on the right eye.  To determine what was causing them he took a blood test to see whether she had high cholesterol for instance but also measured all the other fatty type levels in body. Idea being if that came back clear we would get her off to the opthalmologist.  Anyway had a call this morning and the bloods have shown elevated levels of all sorts to do with her liver function :(
So taking her back in tomorrow and leaving her there so they can test for Cushings - tho looking at that, I don't think she shows any of the symptons  :-\ if that comes back negative then they'll do an ultrasound.
So... not sure what I want the outcome of it all to be really. Just wanna know whats up with my girly... she's fine in herself, but will be distraught tomorrow to be left at the vets :'(  So if I can have a bit of COL magic please to make whatever it is simple to fix or at the very least easy to manage.
She's such a character - always lets me know what mood she's in, always pushing the boundaries and just lives with her heart on her sleeve (if she had one!)... with everything else she deals with she could use a dose of good luck!
Lisa & Maggie x

Loads of luck from me and Willow.  :bigarmhug:

I was in an awful state leaving Willow with the specialist but at the same time just wanted answers,so although it was gut wrenching at least I picked her up knowing what was wrong and how they could treat it. We are thinking of you.

Maddy and Willow xx

Oh no!  Poor Maggie and poor you Lisa.  Will be thinking of you, I know how hard it is waiting and hoping for good results so huge hugs from us two  :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug:  It seems a good indicator that she's not poorly in any other way so I really hope it's nothing serious to worry about.  Take care  :luv:
Both taken away from us far too soon. x  RIP Angels Odie & Archie, causing mayhem at the Rainbow, no doubt!
