FIRST SEASON...LICKING HERSELF RAW!

Our 9 month our puppy is well into her first season.
She is VERY swollen now and keeps licking herself very intensely.
So much so, she is red raw in places and is now reluctant to wee.
I still have the cone from a previous operation she had and wonder whether to put this on her just to give the area a break.
I have been bathing it with a cotton pad and a mild saline solution to try and alleviate her discomfort.
Has anyone any advise or had a similar experience?

Just wonder if a bit of sudocrem might help. Salon may be a bit harsh and won't act as a barrier.

I used savlon spray on my two girls....and it worked.   Don't know whether it is the correct thing to recommend, but they both got relief from it.  :luv:
