We've had Dollar for about a week now. He's four year rescue neutered cocker spaniel. He's got a bit of tummy on him at the moment but the vet seemed to think he'd soon lose this with a bit of exercise. He's not a big eater and he's not really interested in treats either. I was just wondering though what the average weight was for them.
Thanks

Hi 100cents!
I've copied the below info from the Cocker Spaniel Club site ( here : http://www.thecockerspanielclub.co.uk/bree...edstandard.htm) (http://www.thecockerspanielclub.co.uk/breedstandard.htm))
It states the following for dogs
Height approximately: dogs: 39-41 cms (15.5-16 ins);
Weight approximately: 13-14.5 kgs (28-32 lbs).
So I would say that the bigger your boy the closer to the heavier end of the above scale he should be.

Thanks for that Kelly. I'll just close Dollar's ears while I say that he's definately got a bit of a tummy on him then - 18.5kg!

Ruby's just lost over a kilo in weight through exercise, and a change in diet to Burns which helps keep the slimmer anyway. She's a small cocker anyway and now weighs in at 10.2 kg while her sister who lives not far from me has just been told by our vet to lose a little weight as she 2 kilos heavier than Ruby.
