Worried about Buster - Update 8th Nov Page 6
« on: October 28, 2013, 08:54:39 AM »
As some of you might remember back in February Buster was diagnosed with AIHA and we nearly lost him. At the time he also had pancreatitis. He has done brilliantly since then & every 3 weeks when his PCV has been checked we have been able to reduce his drugs so that he is now nearly off them. He had his last check 2 weeks ago but Buster hadn't been quite right, you know yourself even though too everyone else they seem normal. This time the vet did a full blood count but the only thing that was raised was the level that can indicate pancreatitis. She sent blood off the a specialist lab but that came back as normal. He's plodded along eating normally and seemed ok but this weekend especially yesterday we have noticed a big change. He ate his tea last night but instead of eating it in 10 seconds flat it took him ages and he has also been a lot quieter. Normally when you get up he charges downstairs as the first thing he gets is his breakfast but this morning he didn't even follow me. He came down eventually and ate a little bit of breakfast but not much. Just waiting for the vets to open so I can ring to make an appointment. Hate seeing him so quiet, our other one is quieter but that's his nature so don't worry about him but Buster is usually so loud.

Really hope he's okay and that its nothing to do with the AIHA and easily fixable. If he is still on steroids he may have an underlying infection and a course of antibiotics sets them on the right track again. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Just got back from vets but she really doesn't know. His stomach felt tender so we have to feed him little & often but he doesn't want anything. He's now laid under the dining table feeling sorry for himself. I just hope its not his AIHA coming back.

Sorry to hear that Buster is unwell  :luv: it could be the pancreatitis starting up again  ph34r when Pebbles got it the second time around she went off her food as well, that could explain why his tummy is a little tender to touch? hope he gets better real soon x x x

Back to the vets. Buster has got worse and is now vomiting blood. He fought the AIHA so hard so am hoping he can fight whatever this is.
