Glad Grace is home safe and sound with you  :luv: :luv: they really do amaze you with their resilience don't they.  I guess its because they don't have all the emotional and self conscious stuff to get through.  She will be so happy just to be home where she belongs and to know how much she is loved - after all thats all most cockers want :luv:

sending you all hugs and can't wait to hear how Grace is getting on

So glad Grace is home and snuggled up on the sofa.  As others have said, I'm sure she'll adapt really well.  Sending her lots of gentle hugs.   :luv: :luv: :luv:

so pleased Grace is home and doing so well  :luv: :luv:

You must all be so relieved she is already coping so well - it's incredible how well they adapt, and I agree with Ben's mum - they're not emotionally or pyschologically wired like we are and just get on with it  :luv: :luv:

I've seen loads of amputees working in a vets, and they do really well usually - it's easier if it's a front, and also keep an eye on weight, that's vital.

Sounds like she's got the best support already in you, let us know how she gets on. :luv:

Back from a trip to London and OH taken the day off work (I'm going to work from home tomorrow) and Grace continues to get back on her feet (so to speak). Still so diificult to watch her struggling, you constantly want to help her but we are letting her find her own way of doing things and so far so good. The other hound is giving her a wide berth and there has been a bit of grumbling between them (very uncommon!!!). I suspect that as she used to be the bossy one, she is now in a weakened state and he isn't sure where he stands - anyway hopefully when she is out of pain and the stiches are removed she will be much more comfortable.

Still so impressed by how she has been able to cope, thanks to everyone for the helpful websites to visit and all the kind thoughts and best wishes. Just planning now how we can rearrange the house for her to get access all areas. Buying something to raise the bowls up tomorrow to make it easier for her to eat and probably some new rugs for the wooden floors to give her a bit more grip!!!
