Perscription Charges
« on: December 13, 2008, 11:48:58 AM »
Felt I had to write as I feel totally aghast with my vets, I have just rung up to ask for a perscription for a years worth of Milbemax wormer for our adult dogs.  I was promptly told that it would cost £7.50 per item, that means the perscription would cost £22.50 for 3 adult dogs >:D >:D.  This can not be right.  Anyone else had similar experience with vets ripping us off with perscription charges?

I just wish Milebemax was not on perscription as I really like this wormer.

Can't you  get one prescription for a year and share out the tablets between the three dogs?

If I got one perscripton for a year it would only be 4 tablets, as I have 3 adult dogs and worm 3 times a year it would be used up almost immediately.

Get Milbemax online http://vetnpetdirect.com.au/ no prescription required - it's an Australian company and very quick to send to me in Malta   ;)

I presumed that if you were not registered with a vets practice they would not give you a prescription

bruno and 2 cats are reg with one, and kizzy and another cat R.I.P is/were reg with the other,     reason being we had one cat off the vet where kizzy went but when we had bruno he was 5 months old and came from a puppy farm and i wanted to get him innoculated straight away and the orignal vet was busy all of the time (there are 3 vets working there now ) so i ended up taking him to the other practice (hope you get my rambling  :005:) anyway it works quite well for me and they are both only about 1/2 a mile from me too, you can register with any vet you like as far as i know  ;)

They certainly aren't cheap.  Just to walk into our vets consulting room is £25 and thats before anything being said or done.  You then have to add that.  I'm in the wrong job.....   ::)
