OK...after further probing it is most definately a tick

Off to tackle the blighter now and check her over :(

edited to say that after removing it last night I dreamt non-stop about ticks    I dreamt the head of the tick was the size of a plum and that Lottie was left with an enormous whole in her neck     Urghhh......evil little things

Being a novice with ticks, we're unsure whether we got the whole tick out last week.  After removing it I dabbed the area with hibiscrub.  Although the area where the tick was has dried up and looks fine, I can feel a small hard lump under the skin :?

Lottie seems fine in herself.  Is this anything to worry about and should I be taking her to the vets for antibiotics?

I'd just keep an eye on it Mary and carry on cleaning it for a few more days. Vegas' lumps took about a week to go and I know I got the heads out.
