I took Charley to the vets at 8.30 this morning and left him there.  The poor little fellow was very upset and I felt terrible leaving him.  At 12.30 I got a call to say that his bloods were OK and he was to have his pre-med very shortly.  I was quite annoyed about this because Charley would be in a state having waited so long without me.  We have never been separated - he goes everywhere with me - and I wanted him to have been operated upon fairly soon after I left him.

Now waiting to hear he is OK and I can collect him.

I understand your anxiety about leaving him, I have asked what time the surgery is booked in for and dropped them down there about an hour before. I don't know why they always want them first thing in the morning? :dunno:

Hope you hear from them soon.

Just had a call from the vet.  His op went well, but due to the size of the tumour on his back paw she has been unable to fully close the wound and half of a centimetre has been left open.  This should granulate and close over.  The tumour was not a lipoma and is being sent off for analysis.  The lump on his front paw was a thickening of the skin.

I am to pick him up at 6.00pm.  Can't wait.

He'll be glad to see you, as you will be to see him, I bet.

Hope the tests come back ok and that he will heal quickly. I guess he isn't going to be able to go out for walks for a while?

Gentle squidges from us. As we have spent the last 6 months practically living at the vets and having to leave Paisley time and time again. I know what it's like.
Hope Charley goes on oK.

Sending lots of positive thoughts Charley's way. Hope that he makes a quick recovery and the tests come back clear.

Thanks for all of your good wishes.

I collected Charley this evening, and he is feeling very sorry for himself.  He has some painkillers - Rimadyl - and antibiotics.  I have to take him back on Monday and Thursday to have his dressings changed,

He was quite disorientated at first and wouldn't eat, despite not having anything since eight o' clock last night.  I bought a cooked chicken and gave him half of the breast.  He wouldn't eat at first, but finished it all a half hour later.  He wouldn't have any Doggiechocs after I had treated his eyes which is unlike him.  He always has these as a reward for letting me administer his ointments and Viscotears.
