I took Charley to the vet yesterday to have his dressings changed. His front paw was fine, so the vet didn't put on a new dressing and told me to make sure that Charley didn't lick his wound. His back paw needed re-dressing. He also said that it would be better if I didn't walk Charley until the op sites were healed.
I put a sock on Charley's front paw to prevent him licking it, and I made sure it was tied securely. About three in the morning I woke up and heard Charley making a noise. Jumped out of bed and put on the light: the little beggar had removed the sock and pulled out the stitches on his front paw. It looked fine so put some antiseptic cream on and replaced the sock and tied it more securely. He has to go back to the vet on Thursday for another change of dressings and a check up. He's fine in himself, and enjoyed a visit today from Millie whose owner came for lunch - she's a Sprocker - Millie, that is, not her owner.
