Thanks everyone
No, he is not home, Vet wants to keep him overnight again as he has not eaten or been to the toilet, and if he is taken off the drip he might go down hill again over night. If he has still not eaten or been for a pooh by tomorrow they are going to X ray him to see if he has a blockage. Got to ring again in the morning.
Thank goodness for insurance.

Just a mention for anyone with M & S insurance, my policy changed on renewal (and of course I did not read the small print). It now states that you are supposed to ring their pet insurance out of hours number before you use an out of hours vet service
I 'phoned them this morning and as my vet had told me to go back if Bailey got worse I will still be covered for the out of hours treatment.

If it's any consolation Jarvis was on a drip for 36 hours before they allowed us to take him home - he hadn't poo'ed (how could he, he hadn't eaten for 3 days  ::)) but had a wee and they agreed that as his temp/colour etc was ok he would be allowed home on the proviso that if he didn't eat we would have to take him back in.

Sometimes it takes a tiny mouthful of something yummy for them to realise how hungry they are and once they've got a taste then that's it  ;)

Hope he's well enough in the morning to come home   :luv:

Oh i was hoping you were going to say he is home.  :'(   Will be hoping Bailey can come home tomorrow.

As Helen said, if Bailey hasn't eaten then he won't need the toilet   Its a shame the vets can't try to tempt him with some tasty morsels.  :luv:

Hi, Bailey came home yesterday at 6.00pm, they gave him an x-ray but he had not got a blockage.
Seems a lot brighter this morning, now he is over the anesthetic, so hopefully he is going to be O.K
