So sorry to read about Bella, my thoughts are with you  :bigarmhug:

Back in February 2012 I put a question on the Other Breads thread on behalf of my daughter, about skin cancer in dogs, if you would like to take a read,I think its about pg 3 or 4 now.
I received a lot of very helpful replies and a link to a very useful article all about homeopathic medicines for dogs with cancer.
My daughter has been giving her dog green tea and omega three oil and the legions have shrunk by about 75%. This has ment the vet hasnt had to carry out surgery to remove them and although she is fully aware it is terminal, her dog seems much more comfortable.

I hope Bella continues to be stable and comfortable and good boy Zorro  :luv: helps look after her.

Hi Claire

I remember you all!

Our Jessiekaka was diagnosed with a rare canine cancer in 2009 and survived almost 6 months before we had her PTS....she had a cood few months on the chemo/steroid cocktail but when it came back we decided enough was enough!

She was 5 when diagnosed and 6 when PTS... :'(

I know exactly how you feel...Jessie had Multiple Myloma, tumors in her bone marrow and spinal cord....surgery not an option unfortunately....so we did what we could, made her comfy and quality of life became the most important thing.....she had a good few months...in all only a few days in pain really and we had valium handy to adminster if she needed it, and when the prognosis and outlook was bleak we made the decision....

Thinking of you all, especially Zorro, SaffiWestie has never recovered from her death but anothe pooch fills the gap...but if we mention Jessie Saffi whines and looks for her!

Janey x

So sorry to hear about Bella, Claire   :'(  And hope she is with you for a long time to come :luv:
If you're into homeopathy / herbal meds, I can highly recommend Richard Allport (he has a Natural Health Centre at Potters Bars, a clinic in London too I think and does telephone consults). We had a referral to him when we had Smudge's terminal diagnosis - it really helped with her quality of life, and I'm convinced gave her extra time than she would otherwise have had .

So very sorry to read about Bella  :'(  I hope you are able to have some lovely quality time with her over the next few weeks and months to spend sometime in the sunshine and enjoying cocker cuddles together.

Of all the breeds I do think cockers live for the moment and just have such a joy of life and its reassuring that they don't have the same worries about the future we have to live with on their behalf, I am sure all Bella will know is that she is cherished, loved and spoilt for the time she has with you.
:bigarmhug: :bigarmhug: to you and gentle hugs to Bella
