Title: Naughty cocker destroying pillows!
Post by: Northern Girl on December 28, 2018, 08:57:53 PM
Hi everyone! I’m new to the forum so hello! I have a 15 month old black working cocker named Archie, he is adorable but like most, he has his naughty moments  :005:
We only ever leave him for 90 minutes at most and our parents look after him when we are occasionally at work at the same times (I work odd shifts!) he is totally fine and normally just sleeps but occasionally whether he’s home alone or we are at home, he will go in to the bedroom and steal my husbands pillow. He literally destroys the pillow and pillowcase within a matter of seconds and rips all of the stuffing out! He doesn’t destroy anything else (other than his toys!) and it’s only ever my husbands pillows; he actually climbs over my side of the bed to get to my husbands!
He is so loving and we have no real other problems with him, we just find it strange that he is so obsessed with the pillows and also why is it just my husbands that he destroys?! Don’t get my wrong, I’m pleased it isn’t mine  :005: I don’t expect any one to have any answers but just wondered if any one had any theories :dunno:
Thanks for any help and I hope to speak to you all more often!
Laura xx

As well as the cockers we have 2 cats who are determined to claw at our mattress, and climb into the bedroom window scattering the stuff on the dressing table in the process. For peace of mind we make sure the bedroom door is firmly closed. I would start with that if I were you and keep Archie out of there while you seek a more permanent solution. Maybe it's something he will grow out of, Morgan used to chew doormats in his youth  :005:

I have no answers......but you do have my sympathy. Archie is 7 and shows no sign of growing out of his love of pillows!

O but the look on his face  :D :D

He's lovely, would you like us to send you our old pillows for him ?

Is he particularly attached to your husband?
Might be worth leaving a camera on him when you go out. The obvious solution would be to deny him access to the pillows. However this destruction maybe just a symptom of a deeper routed problem.
