So the prickly blighters are falling thick and fast in our garden and Sweep's favourite pastime is to pick them up and bring them inside leaving lovely prickly presents inside for our tender tootsies ........... >:D  >:( ouch
Any other chestnut lovers out there???

A couple of weeks ago we walked through a lovely wood, I decided to pick up some Chestnuts and attempt to open them, obviously this hurt and I soon gave up.

I then turned to see Bea copying me by Pickens them up!

When will I ever learn

Coco always avoids anything that might be prickly on her tootsies  :005:

Conker season too - please remember conkers are poisonous to dogs  ;)

Our last cocker, Bryn, used to get them all tangled up in his chest hair. Often found them hidden in there after a walk.
Current cocker, Beau, always picks them up in his mouth and carries them back home. How he manages this without hurting himself I don't know as he sometimes manages 2 at a time.

Archie ignores them but I pick them up. To open them I just roll them under my (booted) foot and the nuts and prickles part company. I roast them on the wood burner. The wild ones don't come out of their shells very easily though.  >:(
