If you do a search on COL for working cockers you will find all the info you are looking for.  I have a worker, he's manic  .  Workers look very different from show type.  A lot of people think Mikey is a Springer not a Cocker.

in our country we don't have show & work type cause nobody don't use cockers for hunting but apart from this, our show cockers must do a working(field) test,I can only say that working cockers have shorter ears, wider skull, less coat and they're bigger than show type..

Yes same  old story here too.  I am always asked if mine are springers , even more so with Floss 'cos she is choc and white or  liver and white (which ever you prefer). but has anybody ever  seen a blue roan springer. I think not

harry gets called a springer no matter how many times i tell a certain person that he is a working cocker... and pointed out to him that you dont get golden springers.

its got to the point that this certain person has now started telling people who the OH knows that our harry is in fact a SPROCKER not a cocker... over a beer in the pub.

personally if he can only think to talk about my harry when down the pub he is just jealous of my working cocker!!!

a sausage dog is just taking it TOO far though, surely?!?!?!
xx my working cocker works very hard at being a lap dog xx
