He didn't really settle in his new home. I got a kind of emergency message this morning asking if I would take him back. I've missed him so much, it was an easy decision.
Not sure how I will make it work, but my God I will try. I couldn't bear to lose him again.
He'd been gone for 3 months, but he seems really happy to be home and settled down straight away, as if he'd never been away.
Not sure that my cats will be best pleased :D

That's great news - you are obviously meant to be together :luv:
Sure you will find a way to make it work now ;)

Every thing happens for a reason . Fate Call it what you want. If it is meant to be, it will be.
Welcome home , you truly love your dad.
-
Welcome home Bobby :lol2:
Sorry it didn't work out for him, but I guess he is just meant to be with you !!
-
I agree its seems like its a sign - hope it works out now
-
I am genuinely pleased for you and Bobby. I'm sure you will find a way to make it work.

He looks as if he'd never been away. Where there's a will there's a way, sure you will think of something, and wishing you both the best.

It may be fanciful to suggest, but it would seem the stupid mutt has been missing me as much as I missed him. It's hard to describe how he's been since he came home, but it's clear to me how comfortable he feels here. He knows he's come home.
His temporary owner is a lovely lady, she spoilt him silly, and I'm sure he's fond of her. She loved him too, and has treated him well, but he just wouldn't settle and kept trying to run away. I know how strong my bond with Bobby is, and how painful a period it has been, it really does seem as if it was the same for Bobby too. I've had one very calm and contented dog, mainly on the sofa with me, from the minute we got home.

I am so pleased for you and Bobby, clearly meant to be together, it's fate, I'm sure you'll make it work.

Lovely :luv:

O'h, this is so lovely to see! Yours was such an emotional story, I've often wondered how it had all gone. You'll work it out, - Bobby and you are meant to be! Best of luck!! :luv:
-
Oh what lovely news. I really hope you can make it work and he's home for good.
-
Oh what lovely news, Bobby looks very content in that picture :luv:

I really do believe in karma. 3 months is a good period but it was obviously not meant to be.
So pleased for you both. I'm sure you will find a way to make it work😃😃

Have you thought about a doggie day creche? Or having a dog walker take him out when you are at work? Just a thought.

Given that this has all happened very quickly, out of the blue, I've had no chance to make any arrangements. In the immediate short term I will get up a little earlier and take him for a walk before I leave for work, a friend is going to take him out in the middle of the day. I will be hoping to arrange for a professional dog walker as soon as I can.
While he's been away he's got bad a coming to call so, for the moment, he will have to be walked on a lead. Already started retraining him!

Oh goodness, I have a lump in my throat. Bobby looks so content in the photo, as if he has never been away. Yours was such an emotional story and you are obviously meant to be together. Everything crossed you can make it work and you and Bobby are destined to remain together for life now.

Just goes to show some people and dogs are meant to be together. It's lovely!

Just what I was going to write - lovely to see Bobby home :D
-
Aw welcome home Bobby :luv:

Neil...I am so very happy for both you and Bobby, as the new week starts, just know that what obstacles there might be will be overcome because Bobby is where he wants to be, he will become better when he sees there is a pattern to you going out and coming home. Plus there is one big plus, Bobby is content in his home.

How did Bobby cope yesterday while you were are work. Hope everything worked out well with your friend coming round to him. We all have everything crossed you can make this work.
-
just want to repeat, never have had a " unsolvable" problem with leaving our dogs while in full time work. They get used to the routine just as you have got back in the routine of getting up and going

Thank you, and to all the other respondents, for the warmth of your replies.
Two working days in it seems to be going well. I need to find one or more professional dog walkers that can take him on, longer term. He's become more willful and much worse at recall while he's been away which is a problem. I've booked him in for neutering which I hope may help and hope I can get him started with a dog walker, on a lead at first, asap after the operation.
All the indications are that he is happy to be home. I still think I was right to try to find him a new home where he would spend less time alone, but it does seem as if the bond between us is too strong for him to be happy elsewhere, and I certainly found it very difficult to come to terms with his absence. I don't think either of us want to go through that again.
-
I'm sure he'll be absolutely fine - his willfullness is probably just a natural reaction to the change of routine but once the daily pattern has settled back again and become consistant, he'll be back to normal. I'm just so happy for your both, its such a lovely outcome. Hope the job's going well, by the way?

How truly wonderful to hear he's back home with you , everything else will soon fall into place ;)
