knot between toes
« on: January 21, 2015, 09:40:46 AM »
With this wet weather I think it's partially caused with drying his paws, I do keep under  paw hair  quite short but he has a knot in  each front one, which he isn't keen on me trying to cut it, any tips what to do ?

Coco is not very cooperative about having matts cut out from between her pads.  >:( I usually find they are mainly mud etc which has formed into a lump, so I just soak them in some warm soapy water and that gets rid of most of it  ;)

Thank you, I think some of it is mud as he is a "diver" for his ball and therefore digs his claws in.

I have popped Jinley into the groomers before now, so that I can hold her still whilst the fur is trimmed short.  She is such a wriggler that I wouldnt be able to do it myself.

Ah, that might help then - I just squidge around between her toes under the water - she lets me do that when she won't let me near with the scissors - and most of the mud/gritty bits wash out  :D

Lol, yes Adrian fed copious amounts of chicken while his head was turned away from me.
I manage to cut out 2 in his front paws.
I think its going to be an ongoing routine in this house with him.
I cut his under feet every couple of weeks they are SO hairy but its high up the knot forms.

A foot blade on clippers like the one in the link will get matts out between toes or if not too bad working conditioner into the area and teasing them out. :)
