Bad breath
« on: August 29, 2016, 10:05:27 PM »
Harry has developed awful bad 'fishy like bad breath' recently. He has just had his anal glands done, so i guess that rules that out. He's went from kibble to Nutriment raw food about 2-3 months ago but the bad breath is relatively new. Other than that he's tip top. Any ideas anyone?

Cheers thanks

Lipfold infection sounds most likely

Nutriment is about the best you can get so not diet related - fishy/metal is either anal gland infection or tooth / gum infection in my experience.

Would be worth a check up at the vets,

Or .... he's been nicking the cat's kibble, like Blue does if he gets half a chance to sneak into the utility room  >:(

My two have Nutriment but they don't have overly smelly breath.
As said, a vet check might be worth doing.
Do you clean Harry's teeth? I try to remember to do it once a week! I also keep the hair around the mouth short as food does lodge there especially with Maddie who has thick hair.
