Title: Positive Thoughts please. UPDATED page 1
Post by: ladylola on September 22, 2009, 07:10:35 PM
For Paisley.

D Day tomorrow, he is going in for the full ear canal removal OP.

Hope this will be an end to all his problems.

Been on the Arnica since sunday and have bought him a comfy collar.

He's a lovely boy and I know we will be worrying about him all day.

Bless him   :luv: :luv: :luv: :luv:

Well rang the vets and was told to ring back later  :-\

They have just rang me and said.

The OP went well, no bleeding or facial paralysis seemingly  :D

But he has got flickering in his eyes. They think this might be because of the infusion.

They are going to start reducing this [presume it's morphine]

They want to keep him overnight. I think that is probably a good thing.

Vets now will be looking after him. so I presume they are on the premises overnight.

He is sat feeling very sorry for himself  >:(

will ring them again at 5.45 to see how he is. Bless him.

Well the other 4 will be totally miserable and won't want walking  ;)  So don't know what I'm gonna do  :lol2:

But will be steam cleaning the house to make sure there are no hidden bugs to get him when he comes home.

The smell from his ear permeates through the house so plenty to keep me occupied whilst clock watching. :005:

Aww, he's gone in.

Somehow don't think he's going to behave himself  :-\

He wouldn't even let them listen to his heart.

Don't worry they say we'll muzzle him.  Good luck I said. He had a nip at me just trying to put his collar on this morning.

Have to ring about 3.30. they said he wouldn't go on the table till 11.30 ish as they are doing 2 other ops first.

They said his op takes a couple of hours.  He will go back in 2 weeks to get the stitches out.

Spoke to the vet again, and he said he is ok, down in the dumps, He is going to give him some Tramadol.

Said they tried him with a little food but he didn't want it. ate just a little chicken. Not surprising really.

They have flushed his ear with 12 litres of saline, so hopefully all infection will have been flushed out.

He said his ear canal was very thickened the Bulla was too. I asked if we'd done the right thing having the Op and he said. they probably would never have got rid of all his infections on a permanant basis without it.

So hopefully we will have our boy back tomorrow feeling much better.

He said he put up a fight  ph34r even after giving him morphine they had trouble giving him the anaesthetic.

He wasn't having any of it.

Aaaaw, poor Paisley, he must have been frightened.  :'( :'(  It is a pity that he couldn't understand that everyone is trying to make him better  :-\  It certainly sounds like the op was the only solution - you could have gone on indefinitely with the meds and still got nowhere  >:(

I am sure in a few days he will forget about it and start to feel much better - being home with lots of cuddles will help him recover even quicker  :D

Hope your boy has a good night tonight.  :-* :-*

Hope you do too - what a day  :bigarmhug:
