Have tried cheese, proprietory snacks (have to be careful with those as it looks like too many additives sends her loopy  >:() but the best by far is livercake - I do a version where I bake it in a big square shallow tin, cut it into strips and bake the strips again on their sides - makes a kind of doggy biscotti. I use them to stuff Kongs with too.  Fabulous stuff!

Liver cake is the best! We have given our dogs cheese in the past but tend not to because they can't digest the milk so gives them upset stomach.

Livercake or tunacake - thank goodness I read this thread - I put one in the oven about two hours ago and forgot about it!!  We have a Rayburn so you can't smell anything til you open the door.  If I hadn't read this I would have had one rock hard specimen when I eventually got to the oven tomorrow!  thank you COLers :005:

Cloe will do anything inside for a piece of cocktail sausage. Outside if you show her a tennis ball she will not even look at treats :005:.

Up until Sunday last, Dennis's fav was frankfurters however he met JoanneV with her livecake at the Lochore Meadows COL meet up and he was her friend for life along with the other cockers that were there.  Got the recipe from her and am going to try to make some for the wee man soon.

Remember the peg for your nose - it takes a wee while to get used to the smell!!!!

Its an amazing treat thats guaranteed (small caveat here) to get your dogs attention. This is the recipe that I use (I prefer plain flour) but be warned it can be quite gross to blend if you're squeamish and stinks (so large batches recommended!). I cut it up into finger nail size pieces and freeze and defrost as required.

People laugh at me because I'm different, but I laugh at them because they are all the same.
