Oh Jean -dead whale!!  :005: :005: :005:
And I've just read the elk thread!!  :005: :005:

Poppy was gross at the weekend -we took her to the beach and she went on to the sea wall and started rolling -wouldn't come away, we thought it was the dreaded fox poo but oh no!! When she ran back her ears were covered in bright green leafy fronds and her fur was COVERED in blood  >:D  It was a dead bird.
She looked like a mad killer dog risen from the deep!  :005:
It was quite interesting to watch the people keeping themselves and their dogs well away from her on the walk back. And unfortunately the tide was out so we couldn't wash her -boy did she honk!

I must tell you this one, another friend of mine was walking her dogs along the beach and she saw a headless cow on the sand.
she raced home to tell her husband who has a terribly important job in the council and insisted he go and look at it. he did .with the police.
he came back. and he told her it wasnt headless, its head had been buried in the sand. ( ostrich?) it wasnt a cow it was a bull !how could she miss that he said? and its ear tag showed wher it had come from it had gone over a cliff in caithness and been washed up at golspie.

Jean it's the way you tell em

The lane near us goes up to the moor a lovely walk for the dogs or you can cut across a couple of fields into woods which is a where I often take my dogs, a couple of summers back Tessa came across a whole sheep's head, thankfully she didn't roll in it as she didn't like dead things back then (now she's Barf fed it might be a different story), in the other field was what I assumed it's carcass stripped bare. What with the stories of the beasts of the moors made me a bit wary going that way for a while... Although i thought it was probably foxes but it did spook me and that sheep's head was quite macabre :o .... I rather that than a dead whale or a cow falling on me head  :005: I think :-\

rolo would think all his birthdays came at once and would go on cow watch... a bit like lifeguards watching the water but with a whole new and not very moral agenda.
And.. you wouldnt need someone to cover it with a canvas leave him for a while and hed have buried it.... I kid you not... but then he'd wait till it was falling apart stinky and dig the blinking thing up again.. to roll in it! or worse.. my imagination cvannot keep up with what he thinks up!
this thread started back in november i think and TBH I havent gone back to that bit of beach since...
