Another Harness thread - help please
« on: January 03, 2009, 03:03:11 PM »
Woofie will be 10 in a couple of months and his only flaw is that he pulls like an elephant on our way to and from walks.

I have noticed it more these last couple of weeks as I have been off work and doing most of his walks. OH tends to put them in the back of the car to and from walks and as I can't drive we have done more lead walking.

I obviously need to put some work in with him, the stop start method hasn't worked but I need to put some more time and more one to one time with him before I dismiss it.

Anyway back to my question, I want a harness that will aid with training but not cause any problems when he is haring round the fields like a maniac, through the undergrowth etc. He is a very sturdy dog so would I need something substantial?

Any suggestions please.

I don't think that I have ever seen a training harness that I would be happy to leave on when the dog is running free - the only harness I leave on is a trail harness and they are definitely not training aids  ph34r

The Sporn harnesses are easy to take on and off - and pretty good at helping reduce pulling too  ;) I use Sporn No-Pull Harnesses for my two first thing in the morning when we have to walk through the estate to get to the fields; as soon as we get there I take the harnesses off, and pop them back on again to walk home  :D
