Can't Use Recovery Or Restore

hi all,i hope someone can help.today i was trying to do a full recovery on my pc coz stupid 15 year old son downloaded limewire and loads of porn ads kept popping up but it won't work.i have a packard bell pc with xp home installed being the techno phobe i am i never got round to making my xp discs and have always used the recovery option when needed.today it won't work and neither will system restore.i have tried updating and thats made no difference.i am totally stuck now.my pc is still working and i have managed to remove limewire but i need to use recovery on occaisions and am now starting to panic i can't afford to buy a new pc coz i'm saving up for a cocker puppy

You def dont need a new Pc, its just a software problem. So dont panic  

What do you mean by " I have to use recovery ? " Please Explain. Are you having to use a disk to start your pc ?

What happens when you start your pc with out any disks in, what does it say ?

You dont need to do anything as drastic as using the recovery disk just yet.

If you can go here and download spybot search and destroy and run it. Also go here and download adaware and run that as well. This should clear your pc of gremlins
