Puppies eyes

Hi all! Just a quick question... our blue roan cocker Scruffers has square irises. Our daughter noticed it, he is nearly 9 months old. Does anyone know if this is normal & if it would affect his vision at all? How would we check? By taking him to the vet? You can read all sorts of things on the net but thought I would ask those who have the same breed. TIA
