Thanks,
I have been on Amazon and found
The Dog
Linda P. Case.
The Inheritance of Coat Color in Dogs,
Clarence Cook Little
Would they be any good has they cost a lot of money to buy.

The Clarence LITTLE book was first published in 1957  :o , so I would suggest that this might be a bit out of date, even though it was republished in 1967  ;)

The Linda CASE book looks good as a general textbook; but as you say its quite pricy if you just want a genetics book  <_<

Roy Robinson's "Genetics For Dog Breeders" is still in print & has extensive chapters on coat colour inheritance. Malcolm Willis' "Genetics of The Dog" also has good info on colour inheritance but is out of print - copies do turn up on Ebay sometimes so it's worth keeping an eye out for (neither book goes into the inheritance of sable in Cockers though ;)). Robinson's book was updated a few years ago & this version is not cheap but you might be able to pick up the previous version for a much better price. The Clarence Little book is considered a classic work but you'd probably be better off with something more up to date :)

That's a good Buy It Now price on Ebay - I've seen copies going for well over £50-£60 in the past :o
