My side are 24inches, and will definitely be chopped down a bit before our next litter!!
We followed plans of a whelping box and that's the size it said to have the sides, but they were probably thinking of containing Great Danes rather than Cockers.
The pups are 3 weeks now and in the gallery and we leave the front down permanently now especially as they have all taken to paper training so well, I'm just amazed how quickly they grasped the idea, they know to go when they wake and after feeding as though they have read the 'Perfect Puppy Book' themselves.
Good luck with your litter I'm sure they will find their new home really cosy.
